The time has come! Our official Game of the Month for October 2014 is…
October was a tough month to choose a winner for, but we duked it out and decided that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was our winner! Proof that October was a really hard month to pick only one winner can be found in our voting totals. Sunset Overdrive missed out on winning by only ONE VOTE. That being said, having two games fight for first place is a really good thing for gamers everywhere.
Super Smash Bros. has always been a great series for kids to get into gaming, siblings to battle over who gets the remote, and friends to decide bragging rights (or who has to chug a beer). We have writers who played their first SSB match in the 90s while they were in diapers and others who were playing it while in high school and college.
MONG’s very own Lou Contaldi gave it an 8.2 out of 10, stating that “Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS does a lot right” and that the “gameplay is the best aspect of the game. ”
One thing is certain, we all love Super Smash Bros., and the 3DS iteration made us all nostalgic. Many of us are THAT MUCH MORE excited for the Wii U version later this month because of how awesome it was on 3DS.
