Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy Review

LOOKING FOR A HERO

Arc System Works is a developer with long standing ties to the video game industry, reaching all the way back to porting Double Dragon for the Sega Genesis in 1988. They have also worked on several well-known franchises such as the Guilty Gear series and the fighting franchise BlazBlue. Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy is Arc Systems Works’ latest game, and is a dungeon crawler with a hint of Monster Hunter for the PlayStation Vita. While I have never played one of Arc System Works’ games before, I was definitely intrigued by Fantasy Hero, as it seemed like it might offer some twists in the well tread dungeon crawler genre.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Review

THE DEFINITIVE PARTY GAME

Let me set the scene: It is 11 PM on a Friday, ten of my friends are sitting around the big screen (beer in hand) as we focus our unblinking attention to Dark Samus, Wario, and Donkey Kong decking it out on Brinstar. Amid the cheers and the insults, Meta Ridley comes swooping down, knocking everyone off the map. The tide of battle shifts as everyone targets the flying purple foe. In the rush of the excitement, I quickly realized that gaming hasn’t given me a similar experience in nearly a decade. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a force to be reckoned with, merging nostalgia and polish into what is definitively the best party game of this generation.
