You will know whether you like Not a Hero within the first 15 minutes of playing it. Why? It’s simple. It’s an easy to understand game that keeps you invested by giving you an interesting challenge with just the core mechanics. That is why even though the game never really changes after that first 15 minutes, it never needs to. Not a Hero is a game with a funny premise and fun mechanics. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Review

A BLOODY MASTERPIECE

Violence has become a trope in media today.  From the increasingly gory television shows like The Walking Dead to torture porn films like the Saw franchise, violence is something we are inundated with on a daily basis.  On top of this, filmmakers, game designers, and showrunners continue to push the envelope further and further with the end goal of making more money and seizing more attention.  Sure, one can argue that a lot of these creators are just following their vision. However, most of the time it feels as though these artists are seeking attention, and controversy tends to be an easy way to attain this. Upon first glance, it may seem as though Dennaton Games’ is trying to get attention for their gruesome game.  However, after a few scenes it becomes immediately clear that there is a lot more to Hotline Miami than its gory presentation.  Like the first, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a gruesome and unsettling experience that demanded my attention from beginning to end.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition Review

THE KING IS BACK

One thing this decade has been lacking is a good Duke Nukem game. Duke Nukem Forever did not fill that role, so instead of trying again, Duke Nukem 3D and all of the expansions were wrapped up in a nice package and Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition came into existence. The PC version was released in 2013, and now Megaton Edition is available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It does fill the role of best Duke Nukem game this generation as well as the best first-person shooter on Vita.

Shadow Warrior Reboot coming to Xbox One and PS4 in September

In a partnership with Devolver Digital and Majesco Entertainment, Flying Wild Hog’s reboot of 3D Realms’ first person shooter game Shadow Warrior will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Devolver Digital distributing the game digitally and Majesco Entertainment in charge of retail distribution.
