Digging for Indie Gold

I’m going to admit it right off the bat: I hate Dig Dug. While I’ve always latched on to arcade titles like PacmanGalaga, and Arkanoid, I was never able to get in to the tunneling sensation.

I have the opposite problem with Image & Form’s SteamWorld Dig — after draining away 10 hours in a day, burning through my lunch, and missing four calls from my girlfriend, it is fair to say I can’t get away from the addictive gameplay.

PSN Down, Caused by a Stupid Prank? [UPDATED: Services Restored]

A variety of major gaming companies, including Sony, may be the victim of coordinated distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, according to Sony’s President, Shuhei Yoshida. The ‘group’ that has claimed to have carried out the attacks calls themselves the ‘Lizard Squad’.

The Vita: Not Go Quietly

Once again we find a good number of readers, viewers, and even writers or leaders of this news industry reacting viscerally.  With Tomb Raider showing itself to not entirely be exclusive, a lot of PlayStation eyes seem to be focused on the Vita, and the lack of any reveals for the little machine from this summer.

Freedom Wars Date is Official, Along With Pre-Order Bonuses

As we speculated on Sunday, Amazon did in fact let slip Freedom Wars’ official release date.  The highly anticipated title, that launched in June for Japan, will launch October 28th for North America and will also have pre-order incentives.

Share Play Cometh (With Limitations)

Does anyone still remember the announcement way back in the beginning of PlayStation 4 talk about Share Play? The function that would allow you to share your games with your friends all over the world. To play your games with them, even if they don’t own them? This function is finally coming with Firmware 2.0, which was announced at Gamescom. However, it will have some limitations (as should be expected). Hollowpoint Coming to PC & PS4 2015

At Sony’s Gamescom conference, amidst a slew of indie reveals came Hollowpoint. The trailer was fast and almost made the game feel like a side scrolling shooter set within a 3D environment.  However, Hollowpoint was given greater detail and imagery via PlayStation Blog.  The creators had this to say about their work:
