No Man’s Sky Review

Loneliness is pervasive in the wide open expanses of space. From the moment that your eyes open on your first planet to your thousandth landing, the feeling of utter isolation is stifling, but tranquil. This is but one of the double edged swords that defines No Man’s Sky, a game that is both beautifully innovative and lifelessly monotonous.

You’ll never want to resurface.

Call it a diving simulator, a mahi-mahi riding simulation, or whatever you like — it doesn’t change the fact that ABZÛ is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful, atmospherically charged, audiovisual triumphs to date on the PlayStation 4. Neon Chrome Review

MONOCHROMATIC

Games in recent years have begun blending their genres in new and interesting ways. Role-Playing games and Science-fiction elements paired with a first-person shooter gave birth to Destiny. Playing a pinball game mixed with the space adventures of Samus Aran created Metroid Prime Pinball. Seemingly odd combinations that ended up being wonderful experiences. However, Neon Chrome combines a top-down shooter with RPG elements, resulting in a monochromatic experience that seems just a few shades off from its potential.

DECIDING YOUR ADVENTURE

Making a decision is always difficult. Should I eat a bagel with cream cheese or a bowl of oatmeal? Am I going to take the highway or see the scenic route? Will I keep my current mundane job or take a risk and fly to a new job? Most decisions are innocuous and minimally alter the course of your life. Others though, drastically shape your future – for better or worse. Stories: The Path of Destinies toys with the idea of choices to entirely shape it’s storyline to craft a good single-player adventure.
