I’m pretty sure everyone in their 20’s has played Star Fox 64 at least once in their life. That was a magical game with amazing starship combat, tight controls, and challenging bosses. It’s still touted as one of the best games of the Nintendo 64 era, and even holds up to modern standards. Unfortunately, it set a high bar that several sequels failed to surpass — but does Star Fox Zero change that? Continue reading Star Fox Zero REVIEW
Nintendo has been on a Zelda remastering binge recently. Starting with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, nearly every 3D Zelda game has been remastered on either the Wii U or the 3DS. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is the latest remaster, but unlike the previous re-releases, there wasn’t a large demand for this game. Despite its initial critical acclaim, this game isn’t as fondly remembered as other iterations in the franchise. Complaints with the game are numerous but they all seem to be related with Twilight Princess lacking something to make it stand out from the other games in the series. However, with a new coat of paint, and the best aspects of both of its previous releases, this HD remaster shows that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has aged better than expected and is well worth revisiting. Continue reading The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD review
When I wrote about the beta, I said that Hitman could “return the franchise to its former glory.” So has it? Continue reading Hitman Episode 1 Review

Do you have a thing for scantily-clad witches? What about strawberry blondes with bad tempers and abusive tendencies? Are you a small, vaguely blob-like creature who was plucked out of a dreamscape and forced to fight monsters? If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, I have a game for you! Continue reading REVIEW – THE WITCH AND THE HUNDRED KNIGHT: REVIVAL EDITION
Hitman GO is an interesting game. While it has some of the mechanics that are most known for the franchise it doesn’t have any of the violence. Sure, you do “kill” targets, but it’s not in the graphic manner the series is known for. It’s more of taking pieces on and off of a board, much like a game of chess. Continue reading Hitman GO Review
Gemini: Heroes Reborn is better than it has any right to be. Based on the recent Heroes television miniseries Heroes Reborn, the game has all the trappings of an IP-tie in video game, including unimpressive presentation and a lack of creative design. However, the gameplay’s main component, combat, became the game’s saving grace that kept me entertained all the way to the end. What should have been a typical example of a bog standard title based on a pre-existing intellectual property manages to be a step above its preconceptions, if in a unsubstantial way. Continue reading Gemini: Heroes Reborn review
Puzzle games these days seem to be centralized around the mobile marketplace. Titles like Candy Crush Saga and Bejeweled have millions of downloads because of their bright colors and simplistic gameplay. It’s been quite a while since a first-person puzzler was released to the world, or if there has been one, I haven’t noticed. So I was fortunate that Pneuma: Breath Of Life crossed my path. Deco Digital Studios did a fantastic job of creating a world that not only looks amazing, but is filled with tough yet manageable puzzles and an interestingly philosophical storyline.
