The Escapists Review
THE PERFECT PLAN
My first word of advice for players interested in The Escapists? Do not let its initial appearance fool you; do not go into this game expecting to beat it in a few short hours. Beneath The Escapists cute pixel art style lies a challenging gameplay loop that has little forgiveness for even the smallest of mistakes. Continue reading The Escapists Review

Wargaming has announced World of Tanks will be playable on the Xbox One later this year. Currently on the PC and Xbox 360, World of Tanks placed fifth in MMO revenue within its active communities on both platforms, beating out Dota 2, Hearthstone, and Counter-Strike Online in the online gaming earnings list.

Spawn Might Meet Scorpion
“When one door closes, another one opens” is a frequently used saying in my area. However, I don’t think it’s ever been used in reference to Mortal Kombat X, nor to mean that one murderous combatant could be “traded out” for another. Continue reading Spawn Might Meet Scorpion

Hand of Fate Review
THE ULTIMATE HACK N’ SLASH/TABLETOP HYBRID

Well now you don’t have to because Hand of Fate is now available on PC and current-gen consoles. Hand of Fate is a unique game and so much more. The gameplay is both intriguing and exciting, and the graphics are gorgeous. However, this amazing experience is interrupted with the game’s persistent technical issues. Evolve Review
Hunt, Kill, Repeat
Turtle Rock Studios is a developer already much beloved for the Left 4 Dead series, a set of games that really pushed forward the concept of cooperative multiplayer. With Evolve, Turtle Rock looks to push cooperative multiplayer even further with an ambitious 4 vs. 1 match style. At full disclosure, I’m not very good at this type of game. Normally, I tend to stick to playing single-player titles (an option that Evolve allows). However, Evolve’s concept really excited me: a huge, nearly unstoppable monster versus a squad of hunters, high stakes, the thrill of the hunt. These ideas were enough to venture from my comfort zone into the realm of multiplayer gaming (which is definitely how the game deserves to be played). Was Evolve everything I hoped it would be? Did I have a great time? In short, the answer is yes, though a few shortcomings will likely prevent it from evolving into the most dominant game of 2015.
