Many of us will excitedly buy these for ourselves, for a friend or possibly receive them as gifts in turn. No matter the method, one thing is certain: we’re all united in our excitement for a particular game.

Unless… we’re not. Continue reading MISSING THE HYPE TRAIN – COPING WITH A SUDDEN LOSS OF NEW RELEASE HYPE

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Review

A PULP ADVENTURE AT ITS FINEST

For the past few years  there have been a few remasters from last gen games coming to current gen hardware. Some of these remasters can be great when the remaster is better than the original release, or they can be lazy ports that don’t add anything significant to make you want to buy it again. Thankfully, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is in the former camp. While Bluepoint Games does add improvements into each of the games, it does take out some of the features that were in the original release.

When It Comes To DLC and Season Passes, I’m Part Of The Problem (and so are you)

There are a lot of questionable things happening in the industry right now. With E3 coming up, there will be plenty to talk about on  upcoming games that will be arriving in the coming years. Some are coming out this year like Call of Duty: Black Ops III, next year with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End or games we don’t know the release date for, such as Persona 5 or The Last Guardian. Resident Evil Revelations 2 Episode One Review

NOT SO EVIL

Episodic games are a tricky thing to review. On one hand, you are only reviewing a portion of a game that will likely not reflect the game as a whole. The other hand is that it is entirely possible for the first episode and the subsequent episodes to feel the same. However, some episodic games, most notably The Walking Dead: Season One, take the criticism they might get and fix it in the next episode that would be released months after the last. Because of the long breaks between episodes, it’s likely that the overall package will be better for it. However with Resident Evil Revelations 2, which each episode will release weekly, it’ll be hard to see if Capcom will fix any issues the first episode has. Who Needs a Remaster?

It’s been a little over a year since the newest console generation released to an eager audience. Then, it was clear to many who made the leap that the next-generation of gaming was starved for new and exciting titles. Indies, last generation cross-buys, and early exclusive titles tended to the 2014 Game Famine’s most temporary needs, but nothing felt like it really pushed the hardware or justified the need for it. It was a time of regret for some, anger for others, and there were those just happy for what they had.

But something unholy was born out of that time, something wretched and ugly. It was the work of a few money-hungry publishers. They preyed on the needs of the many, and instead of producing something new, they released The Remasters.
