12 Hours Into Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Japanese role-playing games, specifically the ones with turn-based combat used to not appeal to me. I found the turn based combat to be tedious and usually the games require grinding, which just means a lot more of the combat I hated. As I have grown older, I have become more open to trying things I may not have liked before, so I eventually decided to play Persona 3 Portable to see what all the hubbub was about. That game now ranks as one of my all time favorites, along with the even more excellent Persona 4 Golden. Recently, I decided to go backwards and give Persona 2: Innocent Sin a shot. Remapping Console Control Configurations
Five years ago, I picked up a copy of Mirror’s Edge on Xbox 360 at Staples. Yeah, they sell games, and I was just as surprised as you were. Specifically, they sell budget games that are thrown unceremoniously on a rack along with other pieces of software that are no longer relevant. Titles like Conan, The Outfit, and TimeShift are what are commonly found on their shelves, as well as Mirror’s Edge. I had heard so many good things about the game so I bought a copy, went home, and began to play it. I stopped playing after, say, two or three levels in and never tried it again. The reason for this were the controls. The most used buttons on the controller were the LB and LT buttons, two buttons that don’t feel good constantly being pressed. I was baffled as to why the buttons were mapped the way they were and it ruined the game for me. Continue reading Remapping Console Control Configurations

We Need More War Games Like Valiant Hearts
I know that I am a little late to the party, but I just recently finished Valiant Hearts: The Great War. I loved the game, but what really sticks with me is the game’s depiction of war. It paints a picture of horror and death, and that the people fighting on both sides of the war experience the exact same things. More video games should try to depict war like Valiant Hearts does.
