Video Games Live: An Experience Worth Having

Video game music has been on an extraordinary journey since its inception. From its start with simple bleeps of a computerized synthesizer to a slew of beautifully orchestrated pieces, the music of games has become as integral as its storyline or graphics. To showcase this now fundamental piece of video games, a live orchestra, with a choir and visual effects has been created. This amazingly fantastic experience is known as Video Games Live.  Continue reading Video Games Live: An Experience Worth Having

Hobby Game Developers Part 1: I Used To Hate Video Games

I used to hate video games.

I hated video games because, up until 3rd grade, I defined gaming as brainless, worthless, wastes of time, meant only as a distraction from homework and learning. (I was a pretty pretentious child.) When the Wii rose in popularity, I discovered that video games are more than unintelligent pieces of junk. I realized they are awesome. Why We’re Still Getting Newer Editions of the Old 3DS

From his only game’s announcement to his latest internet meltdown, his infamy has grown by leaps and bounds. Since Fez first popped up on the scene in 2008, it captured the attention of the indie world and set its creator on an epic downward spiral. Who is this man? This monster? This crazy Wolverine-hipster?

Nintendo Might Have Accidentally Leaked Pokken Characters

On Tuesday, the Pokémon Company officially revealed Pokken Tournament, a new fighting game combining the characters of the Pokémon universe with the development and mechanics of Bandai Namco’s Tekken franchise. Are Card Games Cool Again?

When I was in elementary school, a major Japanese franchise hit American shores: Pokémon. Before I knew it, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue swept the schools, with the card game quickly following. The cards were exhilarating: purchasing booster packs with the chance of getting rare cards, boxed sets guaranteeing you to get some powerful cards, and even the allure of debating with your friends whether or not a trade is “fair”made for exhilarating playground debate.
