Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy Review
LOOKING FOR A HERO
Arc System Works is a developer with long standing ties to the video game industry, reaching all the way back to porting Double Dragon for the Sega Genesis in 1988. They have also worked on several well-known franchises such as the Guilty Gear series and the fighting franchise BlazBlue. Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy is Arc Systems Works’ latest game, and is a dungeon crawler with a hint of Monster Hunter for the PlayStation Vita. While I have never played one of Arc System Works’ games before, I was definitely intrigued by Fantasy Hero, as it seemed like it might offer some twists in the well tread dungeon crawler genre.

During the PlayStation Experience keynote, Square Enix’s Game Producer, Shinji Hashimoto, began his segment talking about how Square Enix and PlayStation have been together for 20 years. While he was talking, the logo of Final Fantasy VII appeared on the screen behind him. It seemed that he was going to finally grant the wishes of gamers all over, that have waited for nearly ten years; a remake of Final Fantasy VII for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. How Final Fantasy VII Ruined JRPGs For Me
I still remember the year I wrote off JRPGs completely and the game that caused it. It was 1997 and I was 11 at the time. I had gotten a PlayStation a few months ago for Christmas and at that time I was playing Tomb Raider, Resident Evil and other PlayStation classics. August is notorious for signaling the end of summer, meaning everyone [of age] is heading back to school. This was also a great month, if slow, for gamers, due to awesome games coming out around this time. Sony has released its best selling list for August 2014 among the PlayStation platforms.
