The 14th article in the “Video Games I’m Thankful For” series brings us back to the Nintendo 64. Though it wasn’t the first of its series, this game became a staple for my generation of gamers and continues to be the forefront in friendly competition among my friends. Let’s see what we have:

In my earlier years, this was among the top games in my repertoire. Playing the various cups over and over again, honing my skills, and improving the best scores each time was a great source of fun. My favorite character was Toad because, well, he’s awesome.
My favorite part of Mario Kart 64 was the balloon battles. A slight variation on actually racing, this mode offered numerous moments of frustration, excitement, and confusion – all of which were entirely fun.

Several more iterations of the Mario Kart series later, and they still offer countless hours of fun! I can’t wait to purchase a Wii U for myself and experience all the joys of Mario Kart 8!
What games are you thankful for? What games have a special spot in your heart?
Come back tomorrow for the next game of the series!
