Pneuma: Breath Of Life Review
A WHOLE NEW WORLD
Puzzle games these days seem to be centralized around the mobile marketplace. Titles like Candy Crush Saga and Bejeweled have millions of downloads because of their bright colors and simplistic gameplay. It’s been quite a while since a first-person puzzler was released to the world, or if there has been one, I haven’t noticed. So I was fortunate that Pneuma: Breath Of Life crossed my path. Deco Digital Studios did a fantastic job of creating a world that not only looks amazing, but is filled with tough yet manageable puzzles and an interestingly philosophical storyline.

Is PC Actually Better Than Console?
All hail the PC Master Race! This collective hivemind consists of purebred gamers who have made the Personal Computer their gaming platform of choice due to its limitless processing power, compatibility with various controllers and input devices, forward thinking focus on digital releases, multitude of new releases in a vast array of genres, and community support of titles that include fixes, mods, and upgrades. For the longest time, the prevailing opinion has been that whenever a game is released for PC as well as consoles, it would be the superior version by default. Furthermore, the PC is home to many unique exclusives that consoles wouldn’t even be able to run. The expanded capabilities of the PC trumps anything modern consoles can output. However, with respect to the glorious PC Master Race, is that really true? More and more often, we hear about the woes of PC games being broken at launch. In fact, these problems have become so commonplace, that I think it’s worth asking if PC gaming is actually better than gaming on consoles. Continue reading Is PC Actually Better Than Console?
MONG Podcast 112 | Should Duration Determine Price?
Have you ever picked up a game and been finished with it 3 hours? Well the MONG Podcast crew have too and that was the Thought from Nowhere this week… kinda. They went in on the question of if a game’s duration and features should determine its cost. The answers may shock you, or seem absolutely reasonable because Myles, Adam and Jordan are quite reasonable human beings. Regardless, they did cover some actual news as well. Kojima made a return to the podcast with Norman Reedus’ possible tease of a collaboration to come, Watch_Dogs 2 has been confirmed to little fanfare, Quantum Break had a bevy of news this week and Dark Souls III is getting pre-order incentives while the enemies of Dark Souls I are being made to look silly. On top of that, Bethesda has confirmed, priced, and divulged information on the Fallout 4 DLC and last, but most certainly not least, is that PlayStation VR will be on the market this Fall! If you’re not excited, you. Should. Be. Continue reading MONG Podcast 112 | Should Duration Determine Price?

MONG Podcast 111 | Diamonds in the Rough
Everyone should be happy I’m devoted to making this look good or I would have just typed “Gone to Play Firewatch” here and left to do just that. HOWEVER! I’m in it to win it and so is everyone else on this week’s episode of the MONG Podcast! The crew goes through and covers topics from the week including the return of the Overwatch beta, the reveal of The Culling, Metal Gear Solid V’s upcoming DLC, Firewatch photos, David Gaider taking the throne and what happens when you smash two portals together while inside of them in Portal… personally, I think the computer should have crashed hard and never turned back on. 7 WAYS BEING A XBOX FAN HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING
Nobody expected Microsoft to jump into console gaming. Even fewer naysayers thought they would still be doing it today. I was a Nintendo kid in my earliest years (perhaps explaining some pent-up aggression) when suddenly a little indie-game called Halo 2 took me in an all-new direction. It hasn’t been an entirely positive experience though… and here are seven examples. Continue reading 7 WAYS BEING A XBOX FAN HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING
MONG Podcast 108 | The Legendary Debate: Lara v Nate
Welcome to episode 108 of the MONG Podcast! The crew genuinely hopes you’ve come here for fun, because that’s what you’re gonna get. This episode contained the most talk of Gone Home and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture ever in any podcast not specifically about either of those games. We’re secretly trying to win the #1 Conversational Gone Home/Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture combo cast award. All jokes aside, the crew did cover stories such as the massive deluge of new Division info, Phantom Dust’s (hopeful) revival, the coming of the Danganronpas to the Steam store and Journey interactive LIVE. The Thought from Nowhere this week was the most heated yet with the crew debating who’s better, Lara Croft, or Nathan Drake. Fun fact, Nate and Debate rhyme! Come have a fun time! Watch the podcast… thine! Thanks to Tabata Silver for the Thought Out of Nowhere! Continue reading MONG Podcast 108 | The Legendary Debate: Lara v Nate
MONG Podcast 107 | How About Them Mini-Games?
Welcome to episode 108… 107 of the MONG Podcast. This week the crew covers the price of the Oculus Rift, is it too much? Will it be worth it? The return of Psychonauts and the re-release of the original onto the PS4 console. On top of that, Sony tried to trademark the term “Let’s Play,” what’s up with that? As the disembodied voice of the podcast, my opinion is that it’s kinda dirty and silly. Anyway, watch the podcast, hear the crew’s input and opinions, form your own opinions, have fun! Join us for the time of your podcast life! Especially when we get to talking about the mini-games we love… or hate! Continue reading MONG Podcast 107 | How About Them Mini-Games?
