But this morning, Nintendo proved that it knows exactly what it is doing, and despite recent failures, has built a system that is a perfect fit for the 21st century audience.

Fall’s gaming dominance is over

The fall has always been the busiest part of the gaming year. The end of September sees the beginning of a yearly onslaught of games that puts constraints on every wallet and day planner in the industry. For the players, the fall was the beginning of the arduous wait until our Holiday wishes were made reality. Black Friday was the date that put a hard cap on the season and virtually guaranteed increased success for an individual game or publisher.

And it is in the process of losing its relevance.

Lara Croft Returns Home to Sony Consoles- Will Fans be There to Greet Her?

It’s been a long time coming, but Rise of the Tomb Raider is finally headed to the PlayStation 4 on October 11th. The game launches on Sony’s console almost a year after being originally released on Xbox One. It arrives in a new, 20 year celebration package, and sports an added VR mode, but will it be enough for Sony gamers to welcome Lara Croft into their homes this holiday season? Final Fantasy XV Impressions – NYCC 2016

Having never played any numbered Final Fantasy game in over 15 years (yes I’m old), I was curious by the new world created with Final Fantasy XV. The delays, hyper negative pre-critiques, and overall sourness towards this game never bothered me. Sure, it looked cool and promised an incredible experience, but would that be enough to hook me and others towards its release? Sadly, this demo did not leave me with that feeling.

As we prepare to enter into the last few months of 2016 and the big holiday rush of game releases, let’s take a moment to look back at some quality titles from earlier in the year.
